All these new accounts are spouting Islamophobia and pro-Israel rhetoric. Yes, Islam has its pitfalls. I am not taking away from that. You can’t put all people who believe in that faith or any faith into one category. Some of the most welcoming people to me have been from the Islam faith. My first manager, who hired me out of college and knew I was gay, was from Lebanon. This rhetoric of putting people into one category is typical racist ideology that views a group of people as one and not as individuals. At the same time, they will avoid putting themselves in a group of people and claim their individuality. Before replying to these threads that spout this Islamophobia, look at the person profile who is posting it; many of them have been created within the last year. Many of them don’t have any posts; besides that one post, they created it to cause Islamophobia. As gay people, we need to do better.Â
