can someone explain to me pup masks/ pup culture.

i get it’s a community/ family thing as well as a dom/sub thing but what gets people into puppy play and pup gear. cause i know some people just wear the hoods but others do the entire pup training, on a fours, barking collars, leashes. i’m just curious where it comes from and why guys get off on it.
