Scared waiting for HIV test results
Post Body

So I was tested for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea and the comprehensive metabolic panel on Friday afternoon around 3:30. Friday night around 9:30 I got the metabolic panel results back and my ALT level is high, and a few hours later I got the chlamydia and gonorrhea ones back and those were also negative. I didn’t get my HIV results back yet and I think the Dr has to manually review them before it’s shared with me on MyChart because I’m in NY. I’m scared because I was potentially exposed back on May 23rd where I bottomed then realized the top didn’t wear a condom. I went to the Dr on May 29th, got tested for HIV and it was negative and started PrEP (generic for Truvada) a week later on May 30th and now I’m at the 3 month mark for testing for PrEP

I have a Dr appointment on Tuesday as well, so I’m just really scared because I read that high ALT level could be a symptom of HIV. I’ve also read that I could be the PrEP. I wonder if they will send me a message with the results tomorrow or just wait until my appointment on Tuesday. Other than that I haven’t had any other symptoms, I know some people get symptoms and other people get none so I’m just really hoping I’m going to be okay. I have also been told that from that one time having sex it’s a low risk of getting it and HIV is hard to get, but I’m not sure.

Praying I’m gonna be negative. This was a huge learning lesson
