Maybe it’s just my experience, but I’ve noticed that many of my gay friends—regardless of sexual role, although especially those in more submissive ones—have admitted to sleeping with men who are close to or even older than their fathers. This seems to be really common in the gay community, much more so than with straight people. Of course, straight people don’t have the same access to casual sex as gay men, but it feels like for most young, sexually active gay men, having sex with men 10 years older is so normalized.

While, yes, everyone involved is a consenting adult, I still think it’s worth questioning why a 20-year-old sleeping with someone 50 is just considered “normal.” I feel like there’s more to it, whether it’s about daddy issues or the fact that older gay men often prioritize younger guys. I mean, why else would a 32-year-old specifically seek out 18-22-year-olds?

Then there is the issue of underaged boys in Grindr who lie about their age and no ID verification and the obsession with twinks. To me it all feels deliberate like there are undertones here no one really talks about.

Also disclaimer I like older guys and primarily hook up with them but the way it’s so not odd that I do and all my friend have too is odd. I know I have daddy issues.
