Sensitive gag reflex but not for the normal reasons

My bf has an amazing dick that I love to suck. The only problem is I can only last so long because I have a sensitive gag reflex. But the reflex isn’t really caused by his dick but mostly my spit on his dick. Idk what it is but when I feel my own spit on his dick it activates my gag reflex so I can only suck him for so long. Does anyone else experience this? Any advice on how to get around this?
