We've heard for years that too much of the above is not healthy, and will likely lead to weight gain and maybe even diabetes.
Do you guys -- ooops, bros! -- who are in shape or have recently gotten in shape avoid rice, pasta, pizza, bread and bagels? Had they been a major contribution to any weight issue you may have had?
Or you can still these simple carbs, but in moderation only?
Or do you only eat whole wheat bread, brown rice and whole wheat pasta, etc.?
I usually eat whole wheat sliced bread, not just wheat bread, as whole wheat is of course better for us and has more fiber. I occasionally eat expensive artisan sliced bread and baguettes, but they're not whole wheat.
I've tried whole wheat pasta and brown rice, and it's acceptable, but I still prefer regular pasta and rice most of the time
And I eat regular pizza, not the whole wheat crust version.
I am very overweight, for decades.
Just cut out all of the above, or at least reduce drastically? Or do some or most of you in-shape guys still keep in shape without fully eliminating these foods?
