What's so attractive about having sex with complete strangers?

I am not knocking guys that hookup. I just want to know why so many guys love anonymous hookups...what if you show up to the guys house and he is unattractive? Don't you get super nervous sleeping with a stranger? What if he tries to rob or kill you? All of these things are real scenarios. Help me to understand so that I can like hookups.
