I don’t know if it’s just a product of society changing so fast, paranoia or if I’m right. But do you every wonder if a lot of straight people you know (particularly men) are just pretending when they show acceptance and respect for you? Like underneath they lost respect for you once they knew you were gay and don’t really like you, but feel they can’t say anything because it’s not PC to be homophobic?
I grew up in a pretty homophobic environment (like most gay people) and society here in the UK has changed so fast over the last 20 years it gives me whiplash and I can’t quite believe all that homophobia just disappeared, though I don’t encounter it generally day to day with straight friends or colleagues. Does anyone else feel the same way?
