In Europe I observe that a lot of people go out in groups. I’m traveling and friends couldn’t go out tonight. The bar was full at Village Soho which looked like a friendly place. I sat down at the only remaining table by myself. Everyone was with friends.
I didn’t notice someone had already put their backpack down near but not at the small table. There were two empty drink glasses on the table.
The pair came back, I apologized and said I didn’t realize they were sitting there. He said pretty dismissively and sarcastically, “Bye queen. See you in 7 years.”
It sounded dismissive but that was his gay voice coming through too. Was it an insult? I’m unfamiliar with this phrase.
