Anyone familiar with dealing with apartment companies?

Trying to leave my lease and sub myself out for someone else for my roommate because I can’t handle living here anymore but my apartment complex won’t let me leave unless the sub and him can prove they income qualify which my roommate does not as he’s been working part time.
Any subreddit I can post this in to get help?
