Hi everyone. My dad passed away suddenly last week. My mom and I started talking about having a funeral mass to celebrate his life next month (he was cremated and we're waiting to have his burial in the VA cemetery until later in the year when some family from abroad can attend). My mom really wants my brother and uncle to wear white floral boutineers and for the ladies (me, my aunt, and my mom) to wear white floral corsages. I mentioned this to a friend who said corsages and boutineers are for weddings and prom and not funerals. I just wanted to check if the professionals have any insight--is this uncommon? In case it matters, we're Roman Catholic and my mom is from the Philippines, but we live in California. My dad was American, but embraced a lot of Filipino culture--for example, when they got married they incorporated a lot of Filipino traditions into the ceremony. Thank you.
