Does it Violate ADA Laws for the Funeral Home to Request Payment for an ASL Interpreter from the Family?
Post Body

Hi, I am a funeral arranger at a funeral home in CA. I am working with a family right now. Dad passed away and the daughter is the next-of-kin, she is not deaf. Her grandson, his wife, and their child are all deaf and are going to be attending the funeral service. I am working on getting an ASL interpreter for the funeral and my boss is saying we can charge them for the cost of an interpreter but I called the ADA office today and they said we can not. Does anyone have a specific reference to a law that says we can not charge the family? Or any experience with something like this? Thank you.
