Got a script for 12.5mg CR Ambien. What to expect?

So, I've really never had any experience with Nonbenzodiazepines and I've heard absolute horror stories about Blacking out on Ambien (Even worse than Xanax blackouts)... Not to mention this is the highest dosage Ambien comes in. Kinda worried to take it but I've been sleep deprived for nearly 3 months... Getting maybe 3-4 hours of sleep per night.
