Where do the large differences in oral onset come from?
Post Body

If I eat a tab of lsd it takes 5 minutes for the first effects to show and 30 before they really manifest. Some people need to wait an entire hour for that to happen.

When I take mdma orally it takes at least 30 minutes before I feel anything at all.

When taking opioids itโ€™s near instant, even if itโ€™s a pro drug (Tilidin) that needs to be metabolized by the liver first.

Something like 6apb takes up to two hours.

Oral cannabis takes up to two hours as well.

I was once sold some bath salt as mdma and while it was kinda similar to mdma, oral dose hit like a fright train after precisely 10 minutes, all at once.

Where do these massive differences come from? I know why the durations vary, but not why the onset varies so much.

Iโ€™m especially confused how chewing up tilidin acts so quickly. I needs to be processed be the stomach and liver, then reach receptors. It happens all in 60 seconds.
