Liposomes are spherical vesicles of a bilayer of phospholipids. These lipids are amphiphilic in nature because they have hydrophilic and hydrophobic part. Liposomes are useful in drug delivery system because they can encapsulate both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs. Liposomes have aqueous core which is enclosed by a bilayer of phospholipid.
Liposomes are typically used for compounds that have low bioavailability, like flavonoids. You can purchase Liposomal forms of all kinds of nutraceuticals that aren't normally bioavailabile, such as curcumin and quercetin
Salvia divinorum can't be taken orally, something about passing through the GI tract renders it inert. It can only be used via smoking or sublingually, however, trapping the Salvinorin A in a liposome would allow for it to absorb orally, in pill form
Sublingual experiences are longer lasting and less intense than smoking, and the same should apply to a Liposomal form of the drug that is taken orally
And it should be completely legal to do this in many places, including the state I'm in
So, does anybody have any idea how to go about doing something like this?
