I had a dentist appointment at a new clinic and I have never had a cavity before. When he did the exam I was shocked when he said every molar had a cavity, he said this before doing any X-rays. After the X-rays he said they were deep but that some were close to needing a root canal if I don't fill them. Because I have never had cavities I went for a second opinion and this dentist said I had no cavities at all before I told him that I was there for a second opinion. When I told him what the other dentist said he looked again because he was curious what the other dentist was talking about. He said 100% no decay just a bit of staining in the grooves. How can the other dentist have mistaken staining for decay? And even said it was deep enough he could see it in X-rays. I would think the difference between a stain and decay would be very clear.
I even saw a family member yesterday who is also a dentist and mentioned what happened and took a Quick Look and said 100% just staining
