My dentist decided to extract my wisdom tooth (bottom right) without putting me under. I was not given the option of being under anesthesia. He said it would be a simple extraction and that it would only take a few minutes. He did not take an X-ray, he just looked at it.
Comes time to extract it, he’s pulling on it for at least an hour. He breaks it 8 times. Then decides to do an X-ray, which shows that my roots are growing in L shapes in different directions, and he decided to break the rest of the tooth off (another 8 times) till he reached the bone in my jaw.
He prescribed me percocets.
It’s been a few months now and the tooth next to where my wisdom tooth was is extremely sensitive to anything that’s even a little cold.
Was this malpractice?
