Can anyone help me with some whitening kit questions? Unsure on some things

So the dentist told me what I need to know but I’m still slightly unsure. I have custom made molds for overnight use, soft plastic, but mainly I’m concerned about if I’m using the right amount(enough) of the gel(16% carbamide peroxide) I believe.
I splashed out a little on this and have wanted it for a long time, so I really don’t want to mess this up. If you can help either leave a comment or shoot me a DM where I can send some pictures. Thanks!
