My mouth is a mess. Years of dealing with severe depression, extreme anxiety, no insurance, no money. Around 2010/2012 I had to have many of my teeth pulled and many cavities filled. At that point I had no root canals or the likes. I got bottom and top partials. I hated wearing them. My gums were so sore after the extractions and the partial dug into it so I stopped. Cut to around 2021 my remaining teeth suffered because of what I now know to be depression. I had a few fillings fall out, needed another tooth pulled on my lower jaw. Filling fell out of one of my front top teeth, then the bottom of the tooth snapped off and now the nub that's left is black with a cavity. Finally pulled myself up and decided I wanted my life back and I wanted my mouth back. Ent to dentist and they did an x ray and deep cleaning. Said my bone was pretty good shape and even most of my remaining teeth seemed ok but needed work. The bottom right tooth needs to be pulled. And they scheduled for a round of three fillings to start, my front three teeth. I cannot imagine a filling can do anything for a tooth that's snapped in half and is black?? This is around 12 years of no dentist visits and I just can't believe them when they say things 'don't look so bad'. This is my X-ray. But I'm in this for the long haul so I'll start with these baby steps and see where they leads me I was just interested in what others think. It's hard sharing this kind of stuff as it's one of the greatest shames that I have. But one day I want to smile without worrying about how my teeth look.
