I got a redo root canal done in November 2023. I had an abscess on a root that the last dentist missed in 2019 when they did the root canal the first time. It was extremely painful to get redone by an endontist. I think that's the right term. Ever since I will randomly get zinging pain in my gum above the tooth. Sometimes it almost feels like it could turn to throbbing pain nut doesn't. The gum gets tender too. In a way its almost more of a discomfort. I've gone back to the endontist 2 times and my dentist 3 times who all say that everything looks great and don't know why I'm experiencing random pain. Theyve taken many xrays. They think it could be due to teeth grinding but I wear a night guard. Sometimes the pain completely goes away and randomly comes back. And sometimes when I'm having the discomfort it feels like if I tap the tooth with my tongue I get a tug like feeling in the gum but when they tap it with the tool at the office nothing is felt but on the teeth in front of the tooth and the one behind. It's an upper molar on my right side. Sometimes I feel like I can feel it in my bone and when I smile and stuff. I wonder in nerves were damaged causing inflammation off and on. Just want other thoughts I was told that they may refer me to some type of facial surgeon or something cause they don't think it's the tooth. To be honest I just kinda want them to pull the thing and be done with it.
