I bought a car 3 weeks ago and haven't received a plate or registration. My temp tag expired back on the 14th, I went up to the dealership last week and was told they're waiting on SOS (Michigan) to release everything. I'm like okay, maybe come Monday. Yesterday I still hadn't heard anything so I called SOS and they told me they haven't received anything from the dealership and it's illegal to be driving with the expired temp tag.

So I went back up to the dealership and spoke with my sales rep, he looked into it and he said they're waiting on some form (MFOS or something like that) from Volkswagen so they can submit the paper work and Volks has been running behind getting this sent out but the dealership has been tracking this situation since the beginning.

As for the temp tag, they told me just to hold on to all the paperwork they originally gave me as they couldn't get me an updated tag (which I thought was weird) and that the police are aware of the situation.

I'm frustrated because I don't know if the dealership is bsing me or if this is a legit issue right now, I hate driving with no plate. Any advice?
