I know this might sound like a quick judgement, but here's my situation. I posted about selling cars at a local Toyota dealership but I went with my sister to help her acquire a lease on a Mazda a few days ago. The whole process was serial as there were no add ons and no pressure sales tactics. It felt like we were buying a TV at Walmart. They honored the national lease offer and very little negotiations were needed.
I was so impressed by how easy that was that I talked to the sales manager about getting a job there. I'm 41 years old and currently back in school to get a masters in mathematics. My current job pays about 36000 a year but I have very flexible hours. The sales manager let me know that he was hiring and he pays 15 an hour plus 100 per car. I know that's not a very good pay plan and I could get a much better one at a different dealership but this seemed like a very simple process. There were only 4 people in the entire office as the new one is getting remodeled. I feel like there is a lot of growth once that building is done. It's attached to a Lincoln dealership which is part of the franchise. It is located in a city of around 400k in Southwest Florida. Work 5 days a week, 40 hours total. If it is very low pressure, straightforward sales, would you think this is a good start for someone who wants to see if they like the car sales world?
Thanks.
