Hey all, I put down a refundable deposit on a car last week. Was talking to the salesman, very nice, known by a friend of a friend. I wanted to go ahead and buy from this dealership because I think they are giving me a decent deal. I haven’t signed anything, just asked them to run my credit so I know what interest rate I would be getting.
This week I also decided to visit family for a month and a half outside the country. It would be a week after I get the car. Hence I decided to delay the purchase of the car till after I’m back in the country. I intend to call this dealer after I’m back. I called the salesman and told him about the situation, he said no problem and we’ll refund your deposit and start talks again when you get back. Did I make an asshole move? What can I do so that when I call him again I still keep our relationship?
