Hi car salesmen of reddit,

I just bought a new car today as a first time buyer and a recent college graduate. I wanted to hear your thoughts on the deal I got. Please bear with me as I do not remember the exact dollar amount, hence they shall be rounded.

I got a CRV EX-L (white) for a total price of: $39,400 and here is the breakdown:

  • Amount financed: $29,500 @ 5.9% APR
  • Finance charge: $4,900

  • Down payment: $5,000

  • Monthly payment: $576/mo @ 60 mo.

I have excellent payment history but my credit score is rates at 601 when they pulled it. I would like to learn whether this would be considered overpaying? Or maybe I got a good deal? I want this to be a good learning experience for the next time I purchase another car. Thank you very much!

P.S. sorry about the formatting I'm on my phone.
