Accident in leased car. Questions
Post Body

Never been in a MVA before. I am in the state of PA and guy hit me today, thankfully we are both okay. My vehicle came inches from flipping on its side. Vehicle is a 2022 Sorento SX-Prestige. It is a lease. I reported to my insurance and it got towed to the collision center and my insurance has me in a rental car. I am not sure of the appraisal/evaluation of the vehicle. I do not know if it'll be "totaled".

What's my next step here? I am assuming I wait until the collision center does their appraisal and figured out if it's repairable or not-

  1. IF it is repairable, will those costs go through HIS insurance (the gentleman that hit me) or will my insurance pay for that and chase after his insurance for the money?

  2. IF it is deemed a loss, what happens next?
