So…..my car has been through it. It’s at 190k miles and the engine is starting to give out. None of the mechanics I went to wanted to touch it and so I took it to Honda and they’re trying to charge me over 9k to replace 4 piston rings, timing belt, and spark plugs. As a trade in, all they will do is waive the $350 diagnostic fee.

Exterior isn’t too bad, interior isn’t great. It’s a surf car after all 🥲 it still runs, unsafely, and slowly. I figured it’ll be auctioned but I can probably get a little more from the junk yard. It’s got a full tank of gas, fresh oil change, windows are in tact and no cracks.

I have no idea what to do. Any advice is appreciated.
