Post Body

I am starting a new job on Monday in Austin, Texas. I have to buy a car. I have no choice.

I have 14k to put down for the down payment and I plan on borrowing 16K more. For this price, I have narrowed it down to three cars.First choice: Mazda 3 2.5 S Preferred.

Second choice: Honda Civic EX

Third Choice: Toyota Corolla XSE.

  1. Can I realistically expect to get either my first or second choice car for under 30K?
  2. How much effort do I have to put into this. How many dealerships would I need to contact?
  3. How much time would I have to wait to get a car? I will be basically taking Uber to work everyday. The sooner I buy a car the happier I will be.

Help me understand the landscape a little bit. I don't have much experience with buying/selling/maintaining cars.

Edit: Guys I can't see any of the comments. All of them are filtered out by Reddit :|
