I just recently got a job at a Mazda dealership, start in two weeks and I’m completely new to car sales. I’m coming from a job where I’m making 60k a year and working unsustainable hours, about 65 hours a week. I really believe I’m an excellent worker, I have a really unusual ability to connect with people and transfer my own knowledge so sales is something I’ve really wanted to get into. It’s an environment I have a lot of confidence I’ll do well in but I would love to hear from some more experienced people what it’s actually like. My hiring manager said easily I can make what I’m making in the first year, probably closer to 80k and that 3 of his 5 salesmen will be over 100k this year. Are these realistic numbers?
