My girlfriend and I own a company together. For tax reasons, we’re getting ready to buy a car under the company’s name. I currently own a car solely under my name. My question is: can I trade the car in towards this new purchase (it will be financed), or do I have to privately sell it / sign the title over to the company first? For clarification, the vehicle is currently financed through BMW - not sure if that matters as part of the equation. We’re located in California, and our business is located here as well.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
