Why is my radiator fan not working?

On my daughter’s 2012 Nissan Versa the radiator fan is not coming on when I cut ac on. The fan will start running when engine gets well warmed up. So basically the ac doesn’t blow cool air till you start moving down the road. No cool air at idle. Okay, so fan still works just doesn’t come on automatically when ac is turned on. What’s wrong?????
