I bought a 2012 versa brand new in 2012 and after 70,000 miles CVT transmission started messing up. Now car is undriveable and Nissan dealership wants $4000 to replace transmission. I’d like to repair car and give it to my daughter for her first car. $4000 is more than car is probably worth. Does anyone know if I could save money taking it to a transmission repair shop like Mr. transmission? Is there a cheaper option instead of buying a brand new one? I’ve read cvt’s aren’t rebuildable. I really don’t know what to do. I really can’t afford a new car for her but I don’t want to put that much money in a piece of junk.
