Break,rev= launch control?

My parents Maserati lavente I can’t seem to find how to do launch control so I just foot break and rev to 3k then let off. Does break launch differ from actual launch control? What are the differences and is this way still effective? It’s 2017 Maserati levente with no paddle shifters if there’s a way to launch it somone pls lmk.
