I have a 2020 Acura TLX that I am considering trading in for a Tesla model 3. Apart from all the associated EV problems like range anxiety and repairability, what's really stopping me is the repeated claim I hear that Teslas are pretty far from solidly built. My Acura might have a somewhat dated interior compared to a fresh off the line 2023 car but nothing I have found creaks when pressed and the overall build quality is sold. Not high luxury but you get the feeling it's sturdy and well built. I'm worried that switching to a model 3 would feel like a massive downgrade in this regard, despite all the cool tech it has on offer. Can anyone weigh in?
I test drove a model 3 and loved it. So I Rented one for a 3 hour each way drive. Rent one and you will run away. The battery wasn’t even close to as rated. The window noise was so loud I thought it was down. It felt like I’d developed kidney stones because of the seats, which really felt great during the test drive. It started to rain on the interstate and I thought I was going to die trying to navigate through the menus on the screen. It told me I didn’t have enough range to get to my target location (210 mi away) 15 mins after fully recharging before the return trip, so had to pull off. Extreme range anxiety during a 2 hour traffic jam, could get off the interstate because there weren’t any chargers. Oh, the cabin materials after seeing through the initial flash were super poor and hard plastics. It’s a total shit box. I’m so glad I rented one.
Keep the Acura, it’s not even close. Maybe if you were coming from a mid 90s Corolla it would be something of an upgrade.

Totally agree. My experience was mid 90s Carola after spending a day driving a rental. It was pretty bad.
