So if you don't know, persona 1 (revelations persona in the us)had a Black character, Mark. I never played this game but I got into persona 5 r so being a part of the fandom recently lead me to this discovery. Apparently Mark faced dome racism in the first game.

Was it racist...? I mean, if you know what I mean then you know it was, but was it to combat racism (showing what racism looks like towards Black people), or was it to just be racist?

They did do other things, like make mark white in rereleases, but I don't know if that was a response to backlash from the aforementioned racist encounters.
