Is the movie/book "The Green Mike" problematic, and do you like the movie/book? (Black people answer only)?
Post Body

Hello. I learned about the "Magical Negro" stereotype just now. I think I always knew about it, but never seemed to really know about it, if that makes sense. I know movies like "Song of the South" are hated for, I mean, pretty clear reasons, but one of those reasons is the fact that the Black character seems WAY TOO OKAY with the discrimination. While I never thought the character in "The Green Mile," John Coffey, was okay with it, he did, indeed, do little to stop it.
