Hey, I was laid off on a Blue Card recently after working here for 7 months, and I have received a new job offer from another company starting Nov 1 which satisfied Blue Card conditions.
I was so focused on looking for a job and interviewing that I didn't think about whether I need permissions to change. I read a lot of information about this, and seems that for Berlin, you can start a new job without approval and send LEA your new contract(?)
I don't have an employer or position on my Blue Card or Zusatzblatt. It says, "Selbständige Tätigkeit Erlaubt Nach 2 Jähr. Versicherungspfl. Beschäftig. ist Beschäftig. jeder Art Erlaubt. Beschäftigung Gemäà § 18B ABS. 2 S. 1 Aufenthg erlaubt."
I've sent the ABH my new contract and termination agreement from last company a week ago, but haven't heard anything since. I also informed them a month ago when I received a verbal termination but no response either.
Now I'm concerned that there might be a problem in the future if they respond to me in 3 months with a "not approved" etc, since I have already started working. Has anyone had stories of job change being rejected? Are you then required to quit your job or leave Germany? Appreciate your inputs here, I've been quite tensed.
UPDATE: the LEA got back to me on my email after 20 days where I informed them with the new contract. They said I don't need to do anything else since there is no company mentioned on my Zusatzblatt. Woohoo!!!
