Hi, I was just wondering if any of you have had experiences with renewing your passport prior to expiry.

I renewed my passport once in Berlin in January 2020 until January 2025. Given that I will possibly be able to apply for permanent residency in 2024, I would like to go ahead and renew my passport this year prior to it expiring in January 2025. Otherwise I will receive my permanent residency card sometime in mid-2024 and will have to redo a new one after just a few months once my passport expires in early 2025 which would be a hassle.

For the record, I have messaged the Canadian embassy a few days to inquire about my situation and am currently waiting to hear from them.
