Different kinds of therapy

Iāve been seeing a therapist for a few months and only feel worse. Some because Iām letting out a lot but also because I feel like she isnāt really doing anything and sometimes makes unhelpful comments. A friend suggests finding a psychiatrist. Didnāt know there was a difference. He says they help more with deep trauma. Are they more expensive? Can barely afford my therapist. To be fair this guy also tried telling me āshock therapyā can help. Hell no!
