Meta: Should questions that aren't strictly astronomy (but which are space science) be allowed?
Post Body

I'm getting complaints daily about non-astronomy (but still space or astrophysics related) questions appearing here. Then I'm also getting complaints about NOT having those questions or content here because some want a more inclusive subreddit and for it to not be split into fields.

Therefore, I'll put it to a poll so that the community can see what others think, understand what the problem is, and see that there's no single solution which will make everyone happy.

I also used a textbook definition of astronomy to make a delineation, and this also became controversial. Again, some users want strict gatekeeping, but this is difficult when they can't even agree upon a definition.

This poll is for informational purposes and future complaints about what content is allowed will be directed here.

Ultimately, we will probably err on the side of allowing a broader definition of astronomy.
