Sump pump installation costs
Post Body

Hey all,

We are looking to get a sump pump installed in our home. Whenever the ground has been really saturated the past few months, we've noticed water collecting in one area of our home. Each instance is easily soaked up with a few paper towels. This has maybe happened 5 or 6 times over 3 or 4 months.

I've tested filling up our tubs and sinks and adding some dye to see if it comes through but it doesn't collect when I do these tests. After having a ton of rain during the day this past Wednesday and being home to monitor it, I am fairly confident it is ground water coming up. My home was built early 70's.

We were quoted 4K for digging out the pit, installing the pump and installing the exhaust out about 20ft to the nearest down spout. All my research is coming up at a cost of 1K. Is there something I am missing or was a quoted a ripoff?
