P Trap adapter leaking
Post Body

Hello, I'm rebuilding my under sink plumbing to add in a dishwasher drain and just got all of the parts at a plumbing supply store. Everything works great except one of the P-trap adapters starts leaking when the trap fills up. Adapters on both ends of the P trap have this little notch in them and that's the source of the leak on the sink-side adapter. Drain side adapter is having no issues if I just have the notch pointing up.

Is it a bad part or do I just need sealant/cement? The guy at the store said I shouldn't need any sealant/cement with the parts he gave me.
