I am trying to get on board with Trump and just wondering how you all were able to get past Trumps overall character and support him? Specifically how are you able to get past his lies, cruelty, and narcissism?
95% of politicians are corrupt in some form or another (I just made up that number but you get the idea). Put as much scrutiny on each one that the media has put on Trump and skeletons will pour out of everyone's closets. At a certain point you just have to decide if their political policies are better than their opponent's.
Its because we as a society worship strength, dominance, affluence, and above all, winning. It is a crime to be weak and poor even if you are morally upright. What good is being righteous if you are going to be defeated by smooth talking sleazeball ? The entire political apparatus is filled with assholes and we want it that way. We dont even deny it. All we argue about is who started it. That's how mentions of Reagan, Clinton, Newt Ginrich still linger on in our conversations.
