For Trans Feminine and any other people with unwanted facial hair: HOW DO YOU DEAL 😭
Post Body

so: i'm not AMAB. i'm AFAB, could be considered "transmasc" in the sense that i've had my name and sex legally changed, and in "official" times i present as male: ie at work, doctors office, etc.

i've been on low dose (.25 every 2 weeks currently and this has been my dosage for at least 2 years now) for 5 years, but because of the low dosage, changes have been minimal. i look more like somebody within the first year or 2 of T, i would say, and i like that.

here's the issue: i don't want to stop T. i've considered it, but ultimately T is great for me emotionally, even if most of the changes i've had are permanent now, or ones i don't care much about (like body fat). in fact, i sometimes want to increase my dosage because my voice never.. really.. dropped. (i realize in some people it doesn't get very deep, but literally all that happened is i lost the upper half of my vocal range. the bottom half did not change, my voice started to crack but never continued)

the issue is that i HATE HAVING FACIAL HAIR. mostly the mustache. chin and jaw hair looks fine when shaved, and sometimes on more masc days i leave it because its still pretty thin and mostly just makes my jawline more prominent. but i CANNOT STAND the mustache: it makes me dysphoric.

the big issue is: i have light skin, but very dark hair. i don't mind having to shave once a day, but shaving as close as i can, against the grain, post shower, and still not having a smooth and feminine face makes me feel horrible.

i'm going to be looking into permanent solutions (ie laser or electrolysis) but i know those can get pricey (that said, anyone w experience there let me know pricing..? i only want upper lip hair permanently removed. everything else is easy to deal with), but what do i do in the meantime?

i don't wear makeup, for the record, and i don't intend to start (outside of like, eyeliner). if i were to use makeup id want spot-coverage only. i'm not wearing foundation or anything like that - all i care about is removing that 5'oclock shadow from my upper lip. help :(!
