I plan to study abroad in the US next year... Nothing definite, I haven't even applied anywhere, and I don't even know if I can actually do it once the time comes. I just really want to get out of my country so I don't get stuck with my country's stupid stereotypes once I'm out as I study to be a professional. Still very unlikely I can get out though. Though, if by some stroke of luck, I do get to study abroad, is there some kind of insurance I can get to help with transitioning? I really don't know and I don't know how insurance even works for internationals. I'm really sure I wouldn't even be able to afford hrt without insurance. I know this is a very specific question and won't probably get an answer. I'm just hoping I do though.
Edit: Thank you all so much for your very helpful comments. I appreciate the fact that all of you are willing to help someone like me. So mostly, what I got from this is I probably won't know if the healthcare of the school would cover transgender stuff before I actually get in, but generally if it's in a blue (does that mean liberal?) state, it might cover it. At least that's what I think I got. Correct me if I'm wrong.
