College-Level Diploma for the Tech Industry....HELP
Post Body

Hi, fellow Torontonian here. I'm a 24 yr single mother in an employment program for single mothers. I have an interest in the tech field. The areas that specifically hold my interests are web design, UI/UX design, front-end, and cybersecurity. My employment program will only sponsor selective college-level diploma programs so I have decided to go to Centennial College for their Software Engineering Technician Diploma Program. I would like to hear any feedback from anyone who has attended this program, either currently or in the past. How well has this program prepared you for the tech workforce? What jobs were you able to acquire after completing this program? What languages did you learn? What do you wish the course covered more/less of? Does this program enable you to receive a job with a starting salary higher than $50k/yr?

I would also like to hear back from anyone working in the tech field and their recommendations for someone interested in a web developer position with college-level education. Are there any additional projects I can do for my portfolio to seem more appealing to a hiring rep?

Any and all feedback will be accepted and I want to thank you ahead for your time!
