GO train advice

Hi I'm looking for information to help with an upcoming Toronto vacation. We will be driving from upstate NY, crossing at Queenston-Lewiston most likely. I would like to park somewhere in the Niagara region, or at least before entering the Toronto area, and take the GO train to Union Station. Is this a feasible plan? Where would you recommend taking the train from? Thank you.
