Now let me prephase this by stating that most of my post including the title is just me being humorous and any negative connotation you’d derive from it is purely coincidental if not unnecessary.

I’ve been sexually active for a minute and doing routine STI panels have always been the norm. Mind you, I’m the kind of person who gets paranoid about my period being late (lol PCOS) by a couple of days and immediately rushing to get a pregnancy test even if I haven’t been laid in centuries and you can actually here crickets from my crotch if you listen closely.

So the very thought of catching some serious cooties from a lad is way higher up on my list of things that make me anxious. I’ve recently evolved from giving into the keening cries of my Netherlands experiencing touch starvation because I can only engage in physical relations if there’s an actual ✨ connection ✨

That essentially includes having a very strict rule that whoever I talk to has to share a recent STI result in order to consider having a horizontal tango choreography down pat.

I recently had this conversation with a lad I’m talking to, and he brought up an interesting (albeit shady) response as to why he wouldn’t test- basically he doesn’t want the government to keep tabs on him (he works in the army) and someone could question his activities that require STI tests. He said the same thing about testing for covid as well.

The red flag has shimmied its way into the conversation so I am done with the lad.

But my question is- it completely flabbered my gasted hearing these insane theories people have. Why would one jeopardise their own sexual health like this?

Wouldn’t you want to know you and your partner/s are completely in the clear?
