How to get someone to pay you back without the law route

Hi guys I've been having trouble with someone who's been owing me an amount of 50k for 3 years now. The reason why I don't want to go the long route of the law is because I'm literally always on the road for court appearances. What else can one do to get my money back? Anything please help me out.
