So I was on the expressway a few days ago, and suddenly remembered something from when I was young.

My father was on an expressway, driving my family in the car, with a younger version of me in the backseat. This was probably 2009ish and I was just looking out the window as a young person does. It was just cars at night, 9pm-like, nothing out of the ordinary.

And then, a truck (the kind that they make foreign workers get transported in, with the open back and sheet metal roof) drives beside our car. In the truck were 6 or 7 asian-looking girls, all wearing nothing besides matching black two-piece lingerie, chilling on the floor of the back of the truck like it was perfectly normal. If I remember correctly, even though it was quite peculiar to me, no one in the car reacted to it, maybe because I was quite young and they had that ‘don’t talk about it to him yet’ mentality. I didn’t know what to say then, so I never brought it up and eventually forgot about it, but that image was seared into my tiny little brain.

I haven’t seen such a thing again until now, and since I recalled it, am wondering what/who transports people like that? I thought red-light stuff was very ‘behind the scenes’ and contained and not ‘flaunting on an expressway-type open’ in Singapore? Or was it just the work of some eccentric tycoon transporting girls on that one-off incident? Or maybe I was having the best hallucination a nine year old boy can dream of?

Maybe this stuff is common knowledge and I’m just too innocent so please enlighten me.
