Hi, have a couple of qns regarding the practices of swim schools in sg cause it can seem like a scam to many having to either pay upfront for the swim license/training or paying it later if the contract is breached (usually commitment is 1-2yrs
Cause many don't have a lot of experience in general coming into this field, I'd like to hear what schools are OK and what other schools are just outright BAD (aka sw!mray lol) I do desire to be a swim coach and affiliate myself with a school first cause I need both clientele & also certs to get started but I've already gotten some short training at another swim school previously but couldn't continue due to conflicting schedule & also I couldn't commit back then as it was held on weekends and I couldn't quite find a job that wouldn't make me not work on weekends (don't do office jobs usually, more of a socializer/promoter etc)
So hoping to hear some experiences and also some things to look out for etc - especially cause I think the way contracts are made in the swim schools can very easily harm the coaches as well. Like rejecting a class or being sick and still having to work or like paying for certain things etc I found one that sounds legit enough that actually gives cpf and paid leaves after probation but again.... I need to be wary since it's work for 1-2yrs and if breached need to pay 3-20k in penalty funds. Also pls don't say it's a scam ya, many swim schools in sg structure are like that. Either pay upfront and maybe no commitment or maybe still have or pay later if kena breach contract during 1-2yr.
Responses from people who are in this field (currently or previously) only pls or ppl who have heard stories from friends thanks. (That have actually worked before ya)
